1. Nature of Credits
PubFi Credits are usage units that can pay for eligible API capacity in the billing account that receives them. Purchased Credits are prepaid. Starter Credits are a promotional grant. Credits are not money, stored value, a bank deposit, or a security. They have no cash value, cannot be redeemed for cash, and cannot be transferred, sold, or used outside the eligible PubFi account.
PubFi gives each eligible billing account a one-time starter grant of 1,000 Credits. Starter Credits and purchased Credits use the same Credit unit and are included in the same available Credit balance. The starter grant is not a purchase and has no payment or refund lineage.
Under the current catalog, each admitted API attempt consumes exactly 1 Credit. An attempt rejected before admission consumes no Credits. Accountless x402 execution does not consume account Credits.
2. Grant and Expiry
PubFi creates the starter allocation when an eligible billing account is provisioned. A purchase grants Credits only after PubFi receives authoritative verification of payment. Each starter grant, verified purchase, or automatic reload creates a separate allocation with its own validFrom and expiresAt timestamps.
Each starter or purchased allocation expires exactly 365 consecutive 24-hour days after its authoritative validFrom timestamp. The valid interval is half-open: the allocation is valid at validFrom and is expired at expiresAt. Unused Credits do not roll over. A later purchase or automatic reload does not extend, refill, merge, or replace an earlier allocation.
Eligible request capacity is used by the earliest expiresAt first. If a purchased allocation and the starter allocation have the same expiresAt, the purchased allocation is used first. A stable allocation identifier resolves any remaining tie.
3. Price, Tax, and Delivery
The dashboard shows the applicable offer, USD amount, Credit quantity, validity period, and exact versioned terms before you authorize payment. You must review that information before purchase. Any required tax or other final charge detail is part of the payment authorization presented before payment.
Credits are delivered only to the billing account shown at checkout. A payment receipt does not by itself prove that Credits were granted. The authoritative purchase and allocation records control.
4. Refunds and Payment Exceptions
Unused Credits are non-refundable by default, and PubFi does not provide a customer self-service refund action. The starter grant is not purchased and cannot produce a payment refund. This rule does not limit rights that cannot be excluded by law.
PubFi keeps controlled exception paths for a duplicate or unauthorized charge, a charge that did not create its exact promised allocation, a required tax correction, a provider refund, a dispute or chargeback, fraud, and an unresolved payment outcome. PubFi can require evidence and can investigate these exceptions. A refund, dispute, chargeback, or correction can freeze, drain, void, or reverse only the related purchased allocation. A refund does not restore consumed Credits or reduce an automatic-reload monthly spend total.
5. Auto-Reload Authorization
Auto-reload is optional and off by default. It is not a subscription. When you enable it, you authorize PubFi to use the saved payment method for off-session charges when the authoritative total available Credit balance is strictly below your threshold.
Each automatic purchase buys the largest legal whole-Credit amount that does not make the total available Credit balance exceed your target. The amount uses the authorized offer ratio, a USD 1.00 minimum, USD 0.10 increments, and the payment provider's maximum. Because these rules are exact, an automatic reload can stop below the target. Starter Credits are part of this trigger balance. If you enable auto-reload while the total available Credit balance is already below the threshold, an automatic charge can start immediately.
You must set a finite monthly automatic-purchase limit in USD. The month is the half-open UTC interval from the first instant of one calendar month to the first instant of the next. Settled automatic purchases and nonterminal automatic payment attempts count toward the limit. Manual purchases do not count. Your target-to-threshold gap and monthly limit must each permit at least one legal automatic purchase. If the remaining limit cannot reach the target, PubFi can buy a smaller valid amount without exceeding the target. If no valid amount fits, no charge is submitted.
6. Auto-Reload Control and Failures
You can disable auto-reload in the dashboard. Disabling it prevents a payment request that has not crossed the durable submitting boundary. It cannot cancel an off-session payment request that is already being submitted. The dashboard shows an in-flight attempt when one exists.
PubFi does not repeatedly charge a declined payment method. A decline, required authentication, an invalid payment method, a changed offer or terms identity, or another action-required result pauses auto-reload. You must take the shown action and explicitly authorize the current terms before automatic charges can resume.
A successful automatic reload creates a normal separate purchase allocation. It has the same 365-day expiry and refund rules as a manual purchase.
7. Changes, Records, and Notices
Each purchase and auto-reload policy records the exact version and hash of the accepted terms. PubFi does not change the accepted price, Credit ratio, merchant, tax treatment, expiry, or terms for an automatic purchase without requiring a new authorization.
The dashboard's available Credit balance, allocation timestamps, purchase history, limit usage, and status notices are informational presentations of authoritative billing records. Expiry reminders are a convenience and are not an extension. You remain responsible for reviewing the exact expiresAt timestamps.
PubFi can publish a new version of these terms for future purchases and future auto-reload authorizations. A new version does not extend an existing allocation.
